Testing and New Start Centers

In partnership with the IntraHealth, Catholic AIDS  Action operates two (2) Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Centers in Namibia.  These centers provide quality, confidential testing for HIV.  For those who test positive, referrals can immediately be made to Catholic AIDS Action volunteers for ongoing support, as well as to local health facilities for medical intervention.  For those testing negative, they can be referred to Catholic AIDS Action prevention activities to help and support the individual to stay negative.  CAA is now providing testing services for over 8,500 individuals each year.

VCT serves as the “gate way” to referrals for the prevention of mother-to-child interventions and anti-retroviral treatment.
