Testing  [change]

In partnership with the Social Marketing Association, Catholic Aids Action operates three Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Centres in Namibia.  A fourth centre is planned to be opened during 2006.  These centres provide quality, confidential testing for HIV.  For those who test positive, referrals can immediately be made to Catholic Aids Action volunteers for ongoing support, as well as to local health facilities for medical intervention.  For those testing negative, they can be referred to Catholic Aids Action prevention activities to help and support the individual to stay “negative.”  CAA is now providing testing services for almost 4,000 individuals each year.

VCT serves as the “gate way” to referrals for the prevention of mother-to-child interventions and anti-retroviral treatment.
